Uncle Orange is part of the Apple family, hailing from Manehattan. He is married to Aunt Orange. He lives at The Oranges' House in Sweet Apple Acres.
Prior to the Sweet Apple Acres update, Uncle Orange lived in Ponyville; due to an oversight, he did not live with Aunt Orange, who instead lived in Canterlot.
